S type thermocouple is a high-temperature thermocouple that is commonly used to measure temperatures in harsh and extreme environments. It is made of two different types of metals, usually platinum and rhodium, that are joined together to form a junction.
When the junction is exposed to a temperature difference, a voltage is generated across the junction, which can be measured and used to determine the temperature. One of the advantages of the S type thermocouple is its high accuracy and stability at high temperatures. It also has a relatively low drift rate, which means it maintains its accuracy over time. However, the S type thermocouple is more expensive than other types of thermocouples, such as the K or J type.
