Product Description

When the junction is heated, it produces a voltage that is proportional to the temperature difference between the junction and the other end of the wires. This voltage is then measured and used to calculate the temperature at the junction.

Thermocouple wire is available in a range of different types, each with its own specific characteristics and temperature range. Some of the most common types of thermocouple wire include Type K, Type J, Type T, and Type E.

Type K thermocouple wire is one of the most widely used types and is able to measure temperatures ranging from -200°C to +1,200°C. It is made of a chromel (90% nickel and 10% chromium) and alumel (95% nickel, 2% manganese, 2% aluminum, and 1% silicon) alloy.

Type J thermocouple wire is made of iron and constantan (a copper-nickel alloy) and is able to measure temperatures ranging from -40°C to +750°C.

Type T thermocouple wire is made of copper and constantan and is able to measure temperatures ranging from -200°C to +350°C.

Type E thermocouple wire is made of chromel and constantan and is able to measure temperatures ranging from -200°C to +900°C.

Overall, thermocouple wire is a reliable and accurate way to measure temperature in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, including in furnaces, kilns, and other high-temperature processes.
